One Small Change

Officially into 'warm up' round. Each week we are given small tasks in order to prepare us for the big 12 weeks, kicking off Monday the 19th of November!

This weeks' challenge is to make one small change. I have decided my one 'small' change is to only drink water and herbal tea - no sugary drinks. That means goodbye soft drink, goodbye milkshakes and goodbye to my beloved boost juice. How on earth will I survive? This isn't really a small change to me... this is a HUGE change. Well.. here is my motivation for drinking water:

So I did my research...

Apparently - water is the best moisturising agent for you skin, drinking the recommended 8 glasses a day will not only hydrate you, but also leave your skin looking fantastic.

Water gets rid of all the nasties in your body - filters out all the unwanted bacteria and prevents infections and diseases.

Water also decreases anxiety? What the?! Myself, who suffers quite a bit of anxiety was really interested in this... apparently drinking 4-6 glasses of water each day will prevent anxiety attacks. Water flushes away toxins that creates depression, stress, anxiety and panic attacks. Dehydration can actually trigger an anxiety attack. Who new? I sure didn't.

There you go! This has definitely spiked my motivation to drink more water. So hence, that is my small big challenge for this week - water only. Think I can do it? I'll keep you posted.

New Adventure

I did it. I did something I thought I would never do, ever! Yep, I have signed up to round 4, 2012 of Michelle Bridges' 12 Week Body Transformation.

The 12 Week Body Transformation (otherwise known as 12wbt) is a 12 week program in which changes the way you eat, think, and change your lifestyle. Essentially, this program can change your life forever - for the better!

So, my feelings right now?

Yep. That about sums it up!

I have fear. Fear of failure, fear of not losing the desired weight and fear of disappointing my family, friends and very supportive partner.

Confession time: I attempted Round 3 of this program this year and failed. I had all the support I needed, I chose to not to seek help and slumped to my old ways. Yes - I did lose weight and I started to feel great, however my confidence crashed due to certain personal set backs in my life and chose the easy way out.

My goal: I WILL be successful in this round. No slacking off - JFDI! (an acronym probably too rude for blogging purposes. Fellow 12wbt'ers will understand).

At the end of the 12 weeks, I will look like...

...just kidding. I hope to be healthier, have a much better mindset and if I achieve my goal weight, then go me!

This blog and the 12wbt forum will be used as my support base. Venting, stress relief, and possibly a little black humour may be involved, however - I am also hoping some very big positives will arise on here too.

So, I hope some of you reading this will take some humour in this and we can inspire each other in the process. After all, as Mish states - this is a team event.

Bring it on (again) and good luck to you all.
